I came to Owls about 2 years ago for their alteration services and was quite pleased with both the price and quality. This time around, I brought 3 dresses to be altered. I was quoted fairly high prices ($80, $40, $25) but thought these might be lower after the work was done and was told there was a 15% off promo for August. I brought 3 items to be prepared. My handmade quilt from a friend that turned out great. The others I paid a large sum of money and nothing was done! I needed my caftan mended on the side after a shower last night went to put it on, it’s still needs fixed nothing was done! Today I had a very important wedding to go to I asked for my dress 2 inches off the bottom and 1 inch on the front top straps and 1 inch off the back top straps. We are new to Cranberry area, and were trying Owl Cleaners for the 1st time. Needed a shirt cleaned, promised next day. They called next day and said shirt was lost; eventually it was found a couple days later Will give credit for working with us and communicating, but not sure I want to go back to this drycleaners.
I had a rush order on thurs afternoon neede 2 shirts and suit pants by noon sat. Cleaners stayed in touch with me as time progresses and they found a tear in the pants. They didn't get back in time Friday for the seamstress so they called to tell me seamstress would see them first thing sat morning. They did and grandson made it to his friends wedding on time and looking dapper. Owl. Leaders and staff went above and beyond
When dropping off the item, I asked how much it would cost to shorten the hem on a pair of pants. The clerk didn't know. Costs for alterations were not posted. When I went to pick up the pants, I felt the cost was high, even with the 30% discount. I had submitted a 30% off coupon at the time of the drop-off. I guess 15% off is applied automatically, but it took the clerk 10 min. to figure out how to apply the other 15% off when I picked up the pants.
This was the first and it will be the last time I ever use Owl Cleaners. It is ridiculous that you would charge $10.49 to dry clean a pair of pants when the other dry cleaner in the neighborhood charges $4.99. Please remove my e-mail address immediately from your list.
The valances looked very nice on the hangar, but when I took them off I was very disappointed to see how wrinkled the were and not folded very well. I had to iron them to be able to put them up. I just brought another rooms valances in on Friday and I hope they are pressed and folded or better yet hung.
The pants I had dry cleaned were not ready on the date Owl cleaners said they would be and not available until five days later. I was told they tore buttons off during the dry cleaning process. I asked why they didn't let me know so I didn't drive over and I would have planned to wear a different outfit to an event for which I wanted to wear the dry cleaned item. Terrible. When I brought in the 4 drapes I was told if there was sun or other damage then they could not be cleaned. All 4 were apparently cleaned. As we began to hang up the drapes, 2 are damaged. The other 2 drapes are fine but the ironing was not good. I paid $59.80 for this terrible service per invoices #06-800111 and #06-800113.
