Fred Walden worked at the store on Porter off and on from 1959 to 1968. In 1968 he took a job in Texas until spring of 1969. In May of 1969 Fred Walden met his wife Carolyn Walden at Sonic on Lindsey Street. They were married in December and for the first few months Carolyn worked at another job but it wasn't long before she came to work at Waldens Cleaners. Have known generations of this generous family and appreciate how the once-small building near NHS expanded to NW Norman, yet the friendly staff still abide by the decades-old note on my account to individually bag each of my items because Fred always cared about me being able to compactly pack my flight attendant luggage with minimally wrinkled ready-wear upon arrival as possible…THIS is the Oklahoma Standard.
