Fred Walden worked at the store on Porter off and on from 1959 to 1968. In 1968 he took a job in Texas until spring of 1969. In May of 1969 Fred Walden met his wife Carolyn Walden at Sonic on Lindsey Street. They were married in December and for the first few months Carolyn worked at another job but it wasn't long before she came to work at Waldens Cleaners. It took me over 4 years to finally repair the very large hole in my daughter-in-law's filmy wedding skirt and train. But then, it needed cleaning as the wedding was held outside in a dusty location and the lower 30" of the skirt had been transformed to an ombre black up to white. Given the fabric and age of the stains I thought it was a hopeless ask, but Walden Cleaners were able to restore the skirt to white (with only a few minor, barely detectable spots near the hem line, that I suspect are wine)!
