Brothers Cleaners was originally founded in Raleigh in 1916 by Emil Hilker, a German immigrant. Emil’s twin son’s, Jerry and Jim Hilker assumed ownership of the business after his retirement and ran it successfully until the mid 1970’s, when they went their separate business ways. At that point, the business was handed over to our current owners, twins Tom and Bob Hilker, the third generation to continue their family legacy. Picking up cleaning is wonderful for me because I have sciatica. It comes back beautifully laundered. Everyone is very pleasant to deal with and Larry, who picks up my cleaning, is a jewel. You also have a good alterations dept! A Plus all around.
I think Larry and the pick up service is great. He provides great customer service. For the most part my clothes have come back clean and well pressed. A few times I have had to return items for a redo. What I don't like is the billing system and the way discounts are given out. I don't like that I have to print out the newsletter to get the coupon, I don't really know if the coupon has really been applied to my monthly bill, and I don't see what I owe until I get my credit card bill.
