Brothers Cleaners was originally founded in Raleigh in 1916 by Emil Hilker, a German immigrant. Emil’s twin son’s, Jerry and Jim Hilker assumed ownership of the business after his retirement and ran it successfully until the mid 1970’s, when they went their separate business ways. At that point, the business was handed over to our current owners, twins Tom and Bob Hilker, the third generation to continue their family legacy. Very quick and efficient dropping off and picking up. Cleaning is always top notch! I drive a little further to use Brothers rather than a competitor that is closer to my home.

Fast and great service
We had done business before after the big Raleigh fire. This time went as well as then even though a much smaller need. They were most helpful in working to meet our schedules as we had painters working and guests coming.

Courteous and competent. Excellent pick-up/delivery, laundry, dry cleaning, mending/alterations, and bookkeeping. A ladies knit suit, accidentally shrunk by another cleaners, was returned to it’s original size by Brothers. Gorgeous job. I was thrilled. Rugs are cleaned beautifully, too. An oriental rug, soaked in a flood, was returned in perfect condition. A five-star operation.
