Brothers Cleaners was originally founded in Raleigh in 1916 by Emil Hilker, a German immigrant. Emil’s twin son’s, Jerry and Jim Hilker assumed ownership of the business after his retirement and ran it successfully until the mid 1970’s, when they went their separate business ways. At that point, the business was handed over to our current owners, twins Tom and Bob Hilker, the third generation to continue their family legacy. All of the staff I dealt with were very friendly and helpful. I received a call to confirm the price for cleaning window treatments and that was the price I paid .

I just moved to Raleigh and needed a dry cleaners. I continue to wear dress shirts and sport coats to work. It was wonderful to find a friendly and courteous team at Brothers. They text and email when my clothes are ready.
So friendly, speedy, and I love the curbside service. Will be the only place we do our dry cleaning!

I live in Durham and seem to be continually searching for a good dry cleaner, as the good ones seem to sell out. I have actively avoided purchasing dry clean only clothing because of our difficulty in finding a good cleaner. My husband bought a beautiful pair of wool and cashmere trousers and promptly got a spot on them. I tried 2 recommended cleaners in Durham and neither were able to touch the spot.
