Brothers Cleaners was originally founded in Raleigh in 1916 by Emil Hilker, a German immigrant. Emil’s twin son’s, Jerry and Jim Hilker assumed ownership of the business after his retirement and ran it successfully until the mid 1970’s, when they went their separate business ways. At that point, the business was handed over to our current owners, twins Tom and Bob Hilker, the third generation to continue their family legacy. I have been using Brothers Cleaners to clean clothing, drapes and household items after a mold impact in our home. I have been amazed and grateful that there is no odor in the items after they are cleaned. They just smell nice and clean, and all the mold toxins are gone. The drapes were tested for mold after the cleaning. Recently one of our chair cushions got a stain and I dropped it off at Brothers. I just happened to be outside when my Thursday scheduled pick up occurred. Always glad to see Bill and have a few quick moments to catch up but to my surprise I ended up introducing myself to our New route driver David. Very pleasant chap. Sorry to learn Bill will no longer be there but, he does have a life beyond servicing his route and we wish him the best. He was always terrific with Ginger, she'll really miss his whistling tunes and scratch under the chin. Thanks Bill for all your years of service.
