While the front desk receptionist was nice and personable, I had brought in a shirt to be cleaned and a dinner jacket that needed to have the sleeves altered by a few inches on each side. I recently decided to try Comet Cleaners after hearing great things from friends, and I’m so glad I did. From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of excellent. The moment I walked in, I was welcomed by their friendly staff who were eager to help. I had a variety of items that needed cleaning, including a wool coat and a few dress shirts. False advertising, poor communication, and overall bad experience. I dropped off 1 pair of pants on 1/11/24 @ 1:44p, my receipt says Quick Receive on 1/12/24 @ 6p. I specifically asked the associate if they would be ready on time and he assured they would be. Here it is Saturday morning (10:45) and my pants are not ready. BEWARE OF FAKE FIVE STAR REVIEWS! They quoted me one price when I dropped off my items and said it might be slightly more depending on the special care; however, in no world does “slightly more” mean 2x the price, which it was. They then instructed me to leave a review and they’d lower it to the price range I was quoted. That is unethical. They doubled prices at the time of pick up solely to guarantee a good review?! Staff is very nice however after we sent our wedding dress in for cleaning it was ruined and the owner lied to us saying it was fine and tried to have it repaired on his own. But it wasn't even repaired. Now, he will not reimburse us for the custom dress, and we are going to talk to a lawyer.
