Five stars for this shop! They did a beautiful job on an alteration (sleeve shortening) and the price was very reasonable. I found them searching for same day alterations after realizing that the sleeves on my daughter's school concert dress were too long and it was beyond my skill to fix. I came in late Thursday hoping the alteration could be done by end of day on Friday. The tailor there explained that her main workdays were Tuesday and Thursday (so take note). Pricing is very reasonable. Service is fast and items are clean and very well pressed. I especially love the fact that they offer free pick up and delivery. You can do everything thru their app, including payment. So you can do it on your own schedule and never have to make a trip into the store unless you want to. Communication thru the app and text messages makes it easy and pain free. So happy to have found a dry cleaner offering these services!
Berkeley Royal Cleaner is always polite, and always completes cleaning and small alterations on time or sooner. I've been coming here for probably 2 or 3 years now. Parking is easy if you park 1 or 2 blocks away in the residential area. It's a nice, tree-lined neighborhood so the short walk from your car to the storefront is very pleasant. I was over charged by Berkeley Royal Cleaners & also charged the wrong price for a blanket. I was very disappointed that they did not tell me the prices when I asked - since they weighed my laundry when I dropped it off & I asked how much the price was then. They quoted me one price & charged me double that price when I came to pick it up. They also take over a week to clean a small bag of ‘wash & fold’ & still charge $2.50/pound which I think is a rip-off. Most other cleaners charge $1.50/pound for next day service. Per... read more
